MISSION & HISTORY

The Fletcher family made their way to Mesa County in the 1880's, with my grand children we span seven generations. I graduated from Palisade High School, I worked in the Peach industry during high school and worked bucking hay as well.

Hard work has always been a way of life for me, and it built the person I am today. By the age of 21, I started and built two business's in Mesa County. Tammy my wife and I were married in Mesa County and we have raised our family right here in Palisade. I attended various colleges on the western slope, C.N.N.C. in Rangely, Western State College in Gunnison and Mesa College in Grand Junction.

However, I really have learned the art of leadership at the school of experience right here in Mesa County. My first business was a small landscaping company with 4-5 employee's. My next stop was building the family business with my father and mother at Jay-Max Sales. Over the 37 years the company was in business, we built the company to employee around 30 employees. I served as sales manager, Vice-President, President and Corporate Pilot.

The last few years, I have been employed at Kimball Midwest, where I serve as account Representative, covering Western Colorado and Eastern Utah. In 2022, I was awarded Rocky Mountain Sales Person of the Year at Kimball Midwest.

I am a conservative Republican and I have served as a delegate for numerous elections, a precinct committee person, and am currently serving as District Captain in the Palisade area. In 2020, I ran for Mesa County commissioner in District 3. By losing a race, it prepares me even further for the upcoming election of 2024. Losing creates and builds leaders, and quitting is not my style. As an effective business man, I never gave up, and if I didn't like the answer to a problem I kept looking and until the issue was solved.

I have taken the six week class, Inside Mesa County, detailing the in's and outs of the Mesa County Government and I feel prepared to serve our community. I have served on various boards while holding leadership positions, including Past President of The National Association of Purchasing Management, Past Chairman of the Palisade Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Harmony Acres Equestrian Center Board of Directors.

I currently am the President of Hope 'N Horses, a 501c3 non-profit located in Palisade, Colorado dedicated to serving military veterans, and first responders. Our team of trained volunteers and amazing horses provide hope to those who served our country and sacrificed for freedom! I also attend worship at Canyon view Vineyard Church, and have served on the ministry team.
